Waiting waste is when nothing is happening to the material or product: the Value Creation Process stands still. This means finishing the product later than possible, thus creating overhead and binding cash which cannot be capitalized.
Examples:
- Semi-finished product waiting for the next process step
- Material waiting to be released
- Material waiting due to long changeover
